Fargo Post 2 is hosting the North Dakota Class A East Division Tournament  this week at Jack Williams Stadium. Play begins with two elimination games Wednesday night, and the top four seeds for the Class A state tournament will be determined Saturday.

Fargo Post 2 Baseball Hall of Fame member Dave Rusch recently passed away.  The Rusch family is establishing a college scholarship for Post 2. If you would like to make a donation in memory of Dave, please visit the following link.

Dave Rusch was inducted in the fourth class of the Post 2 hall of fame in 2009. He played for Post 2 from 1972 to 1974, was team MVP in 1973 and 1974, and earned state tournament MVP honors for the 1974 championship team.

Rusch hit .333 in his final Legion season with seven triples, 35 runs scored, and only 14 strikeouts in 182 at-bats while going 7-3 on the mound with 113 strikeouts in 92 2/3 innings. He served as an assistant coach for Post 2 under Jerry Harter and spent six years as head coach of Fargo’s Senior Babe Ruth team from 1986-1991, winning three state titles.
