ALUMNI WEEKEND PLANNED

Fargo Post 2 Baseball is proud to announce that they will be having a Post 2 Alumni Baseball weekend. This fun weekend will be during the 37th Annual Fargo-Moorhead Tournament, June 26-28. Please plan on attending this exciting weekend so we can honor our past Post 2 players and dignitaries. More information will be posted on www.post2baseball.com when it is available.

ALUMNI HELP NEEDED

The Post 2 baseball committee needs your help in finding past Post 2 Alumni. Please take a moment and look through the email list. If there are alumnus that you played with that you do not see on the list, please forward this email to them and also please send their email address to info@post2baseball.com Include their full name, email address, and years that they played for Post 2.

Coste is now a Washington National

Former Fargo Post #2 standout Chris Coste is now a National after spending the 2010 Spring Training with the New York Mets and the last half of the 2009 season as a Houston Astro. Before that he spent two and a half seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies, including a World Series title in 2008.

Ebert drafted by Red Sox in 19th round!!!

Former Post #2 pitcher Tom Ebert was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 19th round of the MLB draft on Tuesday. He was assigned to the Lowell Spinners in the Class A short season New York-Penn League.

Three Post #2 Alums Named to All-Conference Squads

Gabe Shockman ('06), Steve Hirchert ('05), and Jeremy Newman ('06) were all named All-Conference in their respective divisions. Shockman is a junior at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa and Hirchert and Newman are at Jamestown College.

Ebert and Tweiten playing college ball far from home

Tom Ebert and Nick Tweiten are playing college baseball in great baseball programs after spending two years in junior college in Iowa.

Ebert moved from Iowa Western to Florida International University this fall and is one of their main starting pitchers. IWCC went to two Junior College World Series in Ebert's two years there. FIU is a Division I program.

Tweiten moved from Des Moines Area Community College in Muscatine, Iowa to William Jewell College in the Kansas City, Missouri area. He is pitching regularly in their games this spring. William Jewell is a perennial power in NAIA.

Laber picks up first franchise win in Florida

Post 2 Alum and former North Dakota State pitcher Jake Laber won the first game in franchise history for Space Coast Surge in the fledgling Florida Winter Baseball League this week.

Laber threw six scoreless innings for the team based in Melbourne, Fla.

Laber pitched in the Frontier League the last two summers setting a franchise record for the River City Rascals in O’Fallon, Mo., with 115 strikeouts.

Post 2 Alum Jake Laber (2003-05) returns to the River City Rascals of the Frontier League for the 2009 season. Laber spent the summer of 2008 pitching for the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks and River City.

Chris Coste

Former Fargo Post #2 slugger and now World Series Champion Chris Coste returns to Pilladelphia for their run at back to back titles. His latest book, The 33 year-old Rookie, was released in March of 2008 and has been a hit nationwide. Fargo couldn't be more proud!
